I agree, the book is full of nonsense. I have read it literally out of boredom — I had to spend a few days at the hospital in an age when there were no ebooks nor Amazon yet…that was the only thing available for reading.
This being said, I personally like algebraic/geometric interpretations. While the numerical relationship (6n+-1) is “trivial”, the fact that these numbers can be arranged in a shape with radial symmetry tickles my imagination of a physicist.
